More Coal Car Cornucopia - BMcC

Rail Fan Adventure --

I have been photographing coal hoppers, among other things, for many years. With your inspiration, now is as good a time as any to share some for what they may be worth. I don't have the kind of info that Carl Shaver provides so generously (for many years), but the essential data is in the caption.

I do know that KCLX is Kansas City Power & Light; OGEX is Omaha Gas & Electric; and PGEX is Portland General Electric. PGEX just took delivery of its last coal train. The plant at Boardman OR will be shut down when the stockpile is gone, within a year I believe.

Much like Georgia Power, Kansas City Power & Light had different train sets for different plants, at least for awhile.
