On my way to the model railroad show in Huntington on Saturday, 11-27-2021, I stopped by Kanawha River Terminals rail-to-barge operation in Ceredo WV.

1. KRT is part of SunCoke Energy which has coke plants at Vansant VA, Haverhill OH, and Middletown OH. Ceredo WV.

5. KRT 413 began life as C&O GP40 4096 in 12-1971. It became CSX 6851. Virginia Railway Express rebuilt it as “GP40-2” V23. KRT numbered their engines for the date they were acquired, so we can presume the acquired this engine in April 2013. Ceredo WV.
