CSX Transportation Historical Society

Do you want to participate in preserving the history of CSX?

The CSX Transportation Historical Society was organized in 2011 for the purpose of collecting, disseminating and preserving the history of CSX as both a railroad and a corporation. The Society considers itself an extension of the fallen flag railroads that formed CSX. While CSX is a fully functional healthy corporation which has been in existence since 1980 and is deserving of having its history preserved for the enlightenment of further generations. The Society is a non profit organization incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and membership is open to all regardless of age, race, sex, or religious beliefs. All of the Society's officers are volunteers and receive no compensation. The Society is an IRS 501{c}3 non profit organization.


Donations -- Donations of railroad oriented items, particularly if related to CSXT, are always welcomed by CSXTHS and may be tax deductible. Contact CSXTHS at CSXTHS@gmail.com for more information on how to donate. 


The CSXTHS Journal, vol 13 no 2, - 2024 Convention, is now available for viewing.

2025 Convention - CSXTHS plans to join up with the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Historical Society and hold a joint convention in Chattanooga TN. Tentative dates are October 2-5, 2025. Plans call for an all-day train ride and meetings to be held at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. Registration and Hotel information will be made available later on the Meetings page.
